Here's a little bit about this week's featured artist(s):
La Fille is a Seattle-based indie rock band led by singer and guitarist Jay Louis. The band’s obscure name is countered by their approachable sound and honest, self-deprecating lyrics. Established in New Jersey in 2014 as a solo project, Jay began writing and recording songs in his Lambertville home. After self-releasing 2 EPs, he ultimately moved out west in search for like-minded musicians where he met drummer Joe Oakes via a Craigslist ad. Oakes had intended to start a punk band, but the two hit it off and quickly decided to pursue La Fille instead. With dreams of a punk band behind them, the duo worked with Michael Benjamin Lerner of Telekinesis to turn a collection of Jay's demos into La Fille's first full-length album, Alright Already. They can be found performing the unreleased record throughout Seattle as a 4-piece band with Tom Moskal on Bass and long-time friend, Steve Sachs on lead guitar.
