If you’ve ever dreamed of getting married in a cozy mountain lodge with vintage train caboose accommodations, mountain views, and a front-row seat to Glacier National Park…Welcome to LOGE Glacier National Park, one of Montana’s best-kept wedding secrets.
Tucked along Highway 2 between East and West Glacier, LOGE Glacier offers a rare blend of nostalgia and modern comfort. Originally built in the 1930s as a railroad worker hotel known as the Izaak Walton Inn, this restored lodge honors Montana’s past while welcoming a new generation of travelers and couples to the LOGE brand.
LOGE Glacier as a Wedding Venue
For couples planning a traditional wedding weekend, LOGE Glacier is your one-stop-shop for the ceremony, reception, catering and lodging. Everything you need is conveniently located in this darling mountain community:
Imagine this: Guests waking up in vintage railcars or thoughtfully styled lodge rooms, grabbing a Montana-made latte in the cafe, and heading out on a morning hike or fly fishing tour (the inn can help coordinate activities, or you can check out complimentary gear included in your stay and DIY). You say your vows nestled in the mountain atmosphere, transition to a cozy reception with handcrafted cocktails and local beer, and dance the night away just steps from your caboose car room. No shuttles. No stress. Just mountain magic.
For the ultimate mountain getaway wedding, or a full wedding weekend filled with paddling, horseback riding, and sunrise hikes, LOGE Glacier is the perfect basecamp to experience all of Glacier National Park.

Originally built in 1939 to house railroad workers, the inn has kept its roots intact while embracing a sense of playful reinvention. LOGE (pronounced like lodge, without the "D") stands for Live Outside, Go Explore—and the energy of this lodge reflects that energy perfectly by celebrating its history and love of the outdoors through thoughtful styling.
It’s charming, unpretentious, and feels like a lasting neighborhood Montana staple—not something imported to impress outsiders.
If you’re leaning into the train theme (and why wouldn’t you?), you have the option to arrive to the GNP area via Amtrak’s Empire Builder, which stops right at Essex Station—just a short walk from LOGE’s front door. No matter if you’re traveling from Seattle, Spokane or Chicago, it’s a nostalgic and scenic way to experience the American West.
From the station, you can literally walk to the inn—or pre-arrange pickup with LOGE staff if you’re hauling gear. It's one of the few wedding destinations where the journey is part of the celebration.
The Izaak Walton Restaurant—a nod to the inn’s original name—serves as the heart of the lodge, with upscale Montana cuisine and a cozy mountain-bar atmosphere that feels far more refined than your average rustic venue.
The onsite dining options are worth a trip down highway 2 even if you’re just passing through. The cozy café serves local coffee from Montana Coffee Traders, and the bar keeps a rotating tap of local craft brews—favorites include Bonsai Brewing Project, Flathead Lake Brewing, and Sacred Waters Brewing.
The menu features classic American staples with a thoughtful twist. Try the beef tallow fries with garlic mayo (yes, they're as good as they sound), hearty burgers, seasonal salads, and Montana beef or trout mains. Think comfort food, but elevated—without being pretentious. Whether you're grabbing brunch before hitting the trails or winding down after your ceremony, the food is legit.
There’s more to do here than just sleep and eat—LOGE Glacier has more than 20 miles of groomed Nordic ski trails right outside its door, plus a pool, sauna, and outdoor hot tub perfect for unwinding after a big day in the park.
While many venues in the area close down during “off-season,” LOGE comes alive in winter. It’s not just a lodge—it’s an experience hub for all seasons.

As a proud Army veteran myself, I have to mention this: LOGE offers 15% off for service members and retirees. LOGE Camps USA is veteran owned and operated and demonstrates a commitment to our troops through this discount program. That ethos of community, service, and exploration runs deep in the LOGE family.
Whether you're planning an elopement in Glacier National Park or a full wedding weekend with guests from around the country, LOGE Glacier brings something rare to the table: heritage, hospitality, and a little bit of railroad magic. It's a place that reminds you to slow down, take in the mountains, and enjoy the ride.
